The design reflects the history and community of Surprise.
The mosaic design features a colorful array of clay and glass tiles with several sculptural elements.
Local residents worked side-by-side with artist Glen to create a lasting tribute to the people of Surprise. The mural features Native American baskets and petroglyphs, and local agricultural elements such as roses, citrus and cotton. Other elements suggested by the residents include images of the city lake, a representation of family, recreation, and local floral and fauna.
